Automotive engineers design and their systems for such as , Auto Repair Florence SC and BMW. They work in all vehicle physics in the development of new technologies, improved fuel efficiency and generally make cars safer and more profitable. This race is ideal for creative people who love to work on cars and have excellent skills in science, problem solving and math. Beginners positions for automotive engineers require at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Formal education

The formation of an automotive engineer begins with a four-year degree at a university or an accredited college. Generally this is the basic requirement for entry-level jobs in the race. While getting a degree, students take classes in a variety of fields, including physics, mathematics, and computer design. Some programs also require core courses in humanities, and in areas such as English or philosophy. The first two years usually consist of basic classes in math and science, while the last two or three years have more specific engineering courses. Those who aspire to automotive engineers must obtain a degree in mechanical engineering or an engineering-related field.

License

After graduating from a degree program in engineering, engineers in all 50 states must obtain a license Engineering Fundamentals passing a rigorous examination. The engineers who complete this step can become engineers in training, or EIT, or engineering practitioners, also known as EI. The EIT are eligible to take the exam in Principles and Practice of Engineering after completing state requirements for work experience, which in most states is four years. People who pass this exam receive the title of professional engineer, or PE, which is the license for the state in which they reside.

The field of automotive engineering is extremely complex and requires a type of reasoning and set of skills. Automotive engineers must be creative, detail-oriented people with a gift for mathematics, physics and problem solving. Because they generally work in teams of large design, these engineers must be good at working with people and have good cooperation with others. Automotive engineers should have a thorough knowledge about cars, parts, engines and car safety laws.

Career advancement

Ongoing training is essential for automotive engineers, especially those who want to advance in the field. An advanced as a master’s degree in engineering is usually required for those who want to pursue advanced positions in research and development. Automotive engineers can obtain business degrees if they plan to advance to management positions higher level. Others assume positions in sales and have a detailed technical knowledge of cars is useful when you talk about them in front of a potential buyer.
